We all know that LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles is a quirky individual, so much to the point where one sometimes has to question what comes out of his mouth.
Well, Bleacher Report’s Barrett Sallee now has another Miles gem to share. After the SEC went 12-1 during opening weekend, with the sole loss going to Vanderbilt, Miles said the following to Sallee:
Les Miles: "I think the SEC should have 25 teams in the top 25."

That’s certainly a bit tough, considering how the SEC only has 14 teams to begin with. It should also be noted that Miles’ team didn’t even play last weekend after the planned season opener against McNeese State was canceled due to inclement weather.
Moreover, 10 teams in the current AP rankings hail from the SEC, so perhaps Miles’ wish could be coming true to a certain degree, that is having all SEC teams represented there.
He may not have chosen his words wisely, but one thing is certain. Miles loves the SEC and thinks it deserves every last drop of respect. And he isn’t wrong.
