In conjuction with all things NFL getting all up in your grill for the kick off of the season this week, the National Football League is also already pumping you up for the 2016 Super Bowl.
Or at least, I think that was what they intended to do.
The league posted a hype video to YouTube this week, aptly titled “The Road to Super Bowl 50 KICKS OFF!” If the intention of the minute-long highlight reel is to get fans juiced for football in general, this hits the nail on the head. There’s firey entrances and hard hits, and a catchy tune in the background to match.
As far as this being a “Super Bowl” video, it falls a bit flat. There isn’t any mention of the big game until the final frame of the video. Nor does it say anything about the venue–the goliath Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
Heck, they could have at least made a slight mention of Bruno Mars potentially making an appearance during the halftime show.
But maybe I’m just being too picky. Perhaps its just time to step away from the hype videos and watch some real football for a change.
