There’s been a torrent of hatred towards the SEC from Oklahoma in recent years, particularly by Bob Stoops, who may still be gloating over the Sooners win against Alabama in the Sugar Bowl in 2013 or may be bittersweet after losing to Florida 24-14 in the 2008 BCS National Championship game when Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow blew up Florida’s offense.
Whatever the case, Bob Stoops isn’t the only one for hard feelings towards college football’s most glamorous conference. His most complete linebacker since Travis Lewis, Eric Striker, chimed in on his point of view concerning the SEC:
“Yeah, man, I don’t know why people blow gas up their a** all the time. I don’t understand why, you know what I mean? It sucks. Who is it?
“Let’s prove the people that say this and that about ‘em, let’s prove them wrong. But it never works. Next year, it’s the same thing. I’ve been hearing it since I was in high school. SEC, SEC, you know what I mean? So it’s never gonna stop.”
Eric Striker has played against only two SEC opponents since stepping onto the field in 2012 and has accumulated 13 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks against those opponents.
Those are some fighting words.
