Wisconsin Badgers safety Michael Caputo made headlines in last weekend’s game against Alabama after he was concussed on a play and then went to the Crimson Tide’s huddle rather than his own. However, Caputo received some good news today.
Speaking to reporters, Badgers coach Paul Chryst confirmed that Caputo had received the all-clear to play in this weekend’s game in Madison against Miami (Ohio). Chryst’s announcement was reported by John Taylor of NBC Sports’ College Football Talk.
This is great news for Wisconsin’s defense, which had no answer for Alabama last weekend. Though Saturday’s game against Miami is definitely more of a tune-up game, it’s a good sign that the Badgers will have one of their top safeties for the game in which they will hopefully get back on the winning track.
Entering Saturday’s game, Caputo has 180 tackles, a sack and an interception along with four fumble recoveries as a Badger. Hopefully, he is truly fully recovered and can help the Badgers keep up in the Big Ten for the rest of 2015.
