Arizona State loses key freshman to torn ACL

The start of the Arizona State Sun Devils era under new coach Bobby Hurley suffered a rough blow today as it was learned that three-star freshman Andre Adams tore the ACL in his left knee for the second time and will miss the 2015-16 season. Adams’ injury was reported by Rob Dauster of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk.

Adams last tore his ACL in that knee back in November while playing high school ball at Florida’s IMG Academy. At 6-foot-9, it was hoped that he would provide a big body and depth up front for a Sun Devils squad that was lacking in that department.

“We look forward to having Andre back in 2016-17,” Hurley said in a release. “He has a great future here and will get support and guidance from a tremendous medical and performance staff.”

ACL injuries are no joke, so hopefully Adams will not lose any of his explosiveness as a result.

Campus Sports will update his recovery as more information becomes available.
