Va Tech awards best o-lineman a custom meat tenderizer

The Virginia Tech Hokies offensive line is a very tight-knit group of players.

In fact, the group goes above and beyond to push and motivate each other that they created a weekly award which goes to the best offensive lineman of the week. The award has been dubbed “The Fool’s Hammer.”

What exactly is “The Fool’s Hammer,” you may ask? Well, it’s a custom meat tenderizer.

“It’s funny, but it’s something that actually does symbolize how hard we’re working,” VaTech’s Wyatt Teller said, via The Key Play.

A hammer is a great symbol of toughness that it takes to play offensive line, and Virginia Tech’s o-line award also includes motivational phrases such as “Beat UVA” and “Pound it Out.”

Check it out below.

Who would have thought that a meat tenderizer could bring a group of players together?

So far this season, the Hokies offensive line has had a pretty impressive performance, so perhaps it is best that they keep on striving to be the proud owner of the hammer each and every week. You always have to strive for something, right?
