Purdue Boilermakers freshmen defensive backs David Rose and Evyn Cooper were arrested by university police yesterday morning after allegedly stealing bicycles on campus. The arrests were reported by The Lafayette Journal and Courier.
Coach Darrell Hazell is aware of what happened, but is waiting for the legal process to play out before taking any action against his players, if any at all. Rose is the only one of the two that has seen any playing time this season, and university police are currently investigating.
No matter how you look at it, if these allegations are true, it’s just a case of Rose and Cooper making a terrible decision. Theft is taken very seriously on the collegiate level, and odds are greater than none that both Rose and Cooper will face some sort of discipline from either the university or Coach Hazell.

Purdue looks to improve to 2-1 this Saturday when they take on the ACC’s Virginia Tech Hokies at 3:30 p.m. ET.
