Deleted tweet from Ole Miss PR director reaches Alabama fans

There are certain things that college football fans can do that the bigwigs who work for the team don’t take part in. One of those things: Talking smack about another team on social media.

Such was the case Saturday when Ole Miss public relaions director Danny Watson decided to join in the trash talk game and take a swipe at Alabama fans. According to FanSided, Watson then deleted the tweet, maybe thinking better of the decision afterwards.

Of course, he didn’t get rid of it before someone caught a screen shot of it.

If that isn’t the most harmless attempt at a jab, I don’t know what is. It wasn’t the most professional decision–which is probably why he chose to delete it. But there’s still nothing malicious about what he said.

Now, it appears the retweet is from a Bama supporter/student/whathaveyou, who clearly didn’t like what Watson had to say. Some of his Twitter followers don’t appear to have liked it either.

But then there are also Alabama fans who don’t seem to mind it.

Either way, Danny Watson is probably going to run his tweets by the rest of his PR staff before he chirps at another school ever again.
