Indiana RB Jordan Howard is the FBS’ new rushing leader

Indiana Hoosiers running back Jordan Howard is currently the nation’s leading rusher, ahead of Florida State’s Dalvin Cook and Georgia’s Nick Chubb. Howard has recorded 507 yards, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.

For the sake of perspective, 48 teams have tallied 507 yards or less in terms of rushing yards as a group, including Pittsburgh (507), Florida International (502) and Kentucky (500).

Howard’s numbers may dip when he lines up against Joey Bosa and the Buckeyes (allow 40 rush yards/game) in two weeks.

Here are the FBS’ leading rushers.

Note how they all share the eastern time zone, but rushing leaders ranked sixth through eighth are from the west.

2. 476 Dalvin Cook, FSU
3. 468 Nick Chubb, UGA
