Earlier today, Michigan State Spartans’ football coach Mark Dantonio announced that Montez Sweat, a redshirt freshman defensive end who did not play in Saturday’s 35-21 win over Air Force, has been suspended.
Why is Sweat, the 6-foot-6 and 230-pound three-star recruit of the 2014 class with four recorded tackles in MSU’s season opener against Jacksonville State, suspended?
It’s difficult to say.
Dantonio said that Sweat’s suspension based on undisclosed reasons would not be long term, although, he did not give a date for Sweat’s return to the field.
Mark Dantonio says DE Montez Sweat has been suspended "for this point in time." Says not long-term. Didn't dress vs. Air Force.

The question that many are asking now is if the suspension of Sweat will prevent the team from preparing for a win against Central Michigan University on Saturday.
