OSU WR Mike Thomas says team will ‘play angry’

Though the Ohio State Buckeyes won 20-13 against Northern Illinois last weekend, it was an ugly victory. As a result, wide receiver Mike Thomas has said that after two weeks of average-looking offense, his team will “play angry” against Western Michigan on Saturday.

Thomas’ words were reported on Twitter by Bleacher Report’s Ben Axelrod.

That’s all well and good but if I may quote Game of Thrones, words are wind. Thomas can talk all he wants about he and his teammates going on the field and playing angry, but none of that matters unless it actually happens. Moreover, Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer has opted to start Cardale Jones at quarterback once again even though he has been benched in favor of J.T. Barrett each of the last two games.

Just the same, it is also important to note that Ohio State has star running back Ezekiel Elliott, who will also be looking to shake off the rough outing he had against NIU and if there is anyone who can jump start the team’s offense, it is him.

All fans have to do now is wait and see which Ohio State team comes out to play this weekend, hopefully the one that electrified the nation en route to a national championship last season.

Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
