Lionel Messi tears MCL, out 7-8 weeks

FC Barcelona star striker Lionel Messi tore his MCL in today’s game against Las Palmas and will miss 7-8 weeks. Despite losing him so early in the game, Barcelona managed to win 2-1.

This is a big blow for Barcelona, as Messi is easily the best soccer player in the world and a key member of the team. Guys like Neymar and Luis Suarez should be able to help pick up the slack in his absence, but the two combined cannot hold a candle to what Messi can do on the field when in top condition.

Since coming to Barcelona in 2004, the 28-year-old Messi has scored 289 goals in 321 appearances. Needless to say, the Argentinean sensation is amazing at what he does.

Campus Sports will update Messi’s recovery as it progresses.
