LSU has hired Wisconsin defensive coordinator Dave Aranda to succeed Kevin Steele, who left to take the same position at Auburn. Aranda’s hiring was announced on Twitter.

Aranda has been the Badgers’ defensive coordinator for the past three yeas and has led them to Top 10 finishes in total defense in each of those years. He has also served at Southern Utah, Utah State and Hawaii. LSU finished 10th in total defense last year, but stumbled down the stretch and just looked lost.
Hopefully, by bringing Aranda aboard, LSU’s defense can look stronger than ever and once again take its place amongst the SEC elite.
