Oregon FCS transfer QB Dakota Prukop is set for spring ball

Former Montana State star quarterback and Oregon graduate transfer Dakota Prukop has been admitted to the university, starts classes today and will play spring ball, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman.

A former three-star recruit from Austin, Texas, Prukop threw for 5,584 yards and 46 touchdowns in three years with the Bobcats while also adding 1,743 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground. His addition marks the second year in a row that Ducks coach Mark Helfrich has landed an FCS transfer, the last being former Eastern Washington star Vernon Adams.

Oregon went 9-4 with Adams under center in 2015 and though Prukop is a fine addition, it does put question marks around the future of Jeff Lockie, who backed up Marcus Mariota as well as Adams, though he did make some spot starts in 2015 when Adams was injured.

Either way, one thing is certain. Oregon’s offense should continue to be one of the strongest in the nation next year regardless of who is playing quarterback.
