Stipe Miocic to get the next heavyweight title shot

UFC heavyweight fighter Stipe Miocic not only scored a big win over Andrei Arlovski at UFC 195 in the co-main event, but he also locked up a title shot. Post-fight, Miocic screamed at UFC President Dana White for one, and that is what he is getting.

“Who the hell was going to say no to him?” Dana White said at the post-fight press conference. “He was like a psycho. I wasn’t going to say no. ‘Are we on the same page now?!’

“Yes. We are on the same page, Stipe.”

Miocic (14-2) is currently riding a two-fight winning streak and is 4-2 in his last six bouts.

“I have the best coaches in the world. They have all the confidence in me, I have confidence in them. Whoever it is, I don’t care,” he said plainly. “I want my shot.”

UFC 195 took place on Saturday, Jan. 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This marked the first UFC event of 2016. The main card aired on pay-per-view while the prelims aired on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Miocic will have to wait to see who he fights as Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum fight at UFC 196 in their rematch for the heavyweight title.
