Urban Meyer announces three captains for 2016

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has announced that linebacker Raekwon McMillan, quarterback J.T. Barrett and offensive lineman Pat Elflein will be the first three Buckeyes captains for 2016.

Barrett was also a captain last year and given how many players the Buckeyes have lost to the NFL Draft so far, he’ll need to rally a young and inexperienced team to continue making noise in the Big Ten.

The same goes for Elflein, who will be tasked with protecting Barrett, and McMillan will probably take over as the unquestioned leader on defense.

Needless to say, after having six captains last season, Meyer is far from finished naming his team leaders for 2016.
