The Ultimate Fighting Championship is capitalizing on recent momentum for the promotion by booking another super card for the early part of 2016. And, brace yourself, this one is going to be amazing.
After watching Conor McGregor run through Jose Aldo to stake his claim to the UFC featherweight title, he will be moving up to the lightweight division for a meeting with 155-pound champion Rafael dos Anjos. UFC president Dana White was initially hesitant to say McGregor could pursue two titles, but he has since opened up to the possibility.
Now, we will reportedly see McGregor vs. Dos Anjos at UFC 197 in Las Vegas.
In addition to the champion vs. champion bout, it is being reported that UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm is set to make her first title defense against Miesha Tate.
There is currently no official announcement regarding UFC 197, but one is expected soon.
Let the fun begin.
