Tennessee CB Cam Sutton returning for senior season

Tennessee Volunteers cornerback Cam Sutton announced on his Twitter that he will return to Rocky Top for his senior season.

A former three-star recruit from the Atlanta area, Sutton had 28 tackles, an interception, two forced fumbles and six pass breakups in 2015. In his college career, he has 104 tackles with six interceptions, three forced fumbles and 26 pass breakups.

That said, though Sutton easily would have been picked in this year’s NFL Draft, he’s making the smart decision to finish school and at least give himself a fallback option in case playing on the professional level doesn’t work out. Given how much Tennessee has improved in three years under coach Butch Jones, look for Sutton to step up as a leader on defense next year and keep the Vols competing in the ultra-competitive SEC.
