Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall and his teammates have a date with the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game for the second time in three years, and Marshall has already started the trash talk with Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski as his target.
Appearing on Pro Football Talk Live, Marshall was asked why the man known as “Gronk” was so hard to cover, and was blunt in his answer.
“I say ’cause he pushes off,” Marshall said. “I mean, he pushes off and he gets away with it about 98 percent of the time.”
Gronkowski definitely does push off quite a bit and has been flagged for it quite a bit this year. In 2015 alone, he was flagged for offensive pass interference six times.
But let’s not forget the fact that despite Marshall’s words, Gronkowski is going to be far more motivated this time around. The last time these two teams met, back on November 29, Denver tackled him low and he injured his knee. Needless to say, hell hath no fury like an angry Gronk.
