Ronda Rousey says Holm rematch will happen in 2016

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will not be facing current title holder Holly Holm as soon as initially anticipated, but the bout is still supposed to happen in 2016.

Rousey was expected to return at UFC 200 in July, but her return to the Octagon has been delayed. Despite that, Rousey said the Holm rematch is all she wants.

The ex-champ spoke to TMZ at Sunday night’s UFC Fight Night event in Boston.

“It’s sometime later in the year,” Rousey said. “They haven’t told me an exact date or location. It’s a decision we’re all going to make together. I’m kind of waiting to hear from them on what options they’re going to give me.”

While Holm waits for a decision on Rousey, she will defend her title against Miesha Tate at UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas.
