NFL Draft rumors: Browns targeting Carson Wentz at No. 2?

When it comes to the quarterback position, the hype at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama has been all about North Dakota State star Carson Wentz. While he looks the part, Wentz has also put his impressive arm talent on display for scouts.

Throughout the week, Wentz has been capitalizing on the buzz and the scouting community now seems to have come to a consensus that the former Bison signal-caller is set to be a top ten pick.

In fact, the most recent buzz has Wentz as the top-rated quarterback and a potential top two pick.

The team currently linked to Wentz is the Cleveland Browns, who are expected to move on from Johnny Manziel under new head coach Hue Jackson.

The Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick and Wentz could be the choice.

If you don’t buy into the buzz that has been going through Mobile, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller confirmed there is something there between Wentz and the Browns.

With prototypical size and a strong arm, Wentz could finally be the quarterback that the Browns franchise has been waiting for.

Of course, plenty can change between now and the draft, so we will have to see just how high the North Dakota State standout ends up being drafted. For now, however, he has all of the momentum in his corner.
