There are PR flubs over which everyone has a laugh, and then there are others where someone clearly needs to be fired.
This one in particular, courtesy of the defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals, falls into the latter category. According to a report from The New York Daily News, the Royals will host Epilepsy Awareness Nigh at Kauffman Stadium on August 5, spotlighting a phenomenal cause.
But there’s just one problem. August 5 also happens to be Fireworks Night and to have a bunch of fireworks going off when there will probably be some epileptics in the stands is NOT a good idea. Of course, people took to Twitter to call the team out over the marketing boo-boo.
Seriously, who the hell in your PR crew thought it was a good idea to have fireworks on epilepsy awareness night @Royals

Needless to say, with such a negative reaction from the masses, don’t be shocked if the Royals wind up rescheduling either event for another date.
