To what should be no one’s surprise, Clemson star quarterback Deshaun Watson may be contemplating entering the 2017 NFL Draft, after what will be his junior season.
“If I have the opportunity to go to the NFL, I’m going to take it,” Watson said. After this upcoming season Watson will be draft-eligible for the first time, and surely he will be considered for the no. 1 pick.
Coming into the 2016 campaign Watson will be a Heisman front runner after throwing for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns and ran for 1,105 yards and 12 scores in 2015.
“With at least another year to refine his skills, Watson could join [Marcus] Mariota as a Heisman Trophy winner and top draft pick down the road,” NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks wrote.
