At 17/18 years old, anytime you get to leave the house is a thrill. Imagine though what it must be like for football prospects getting recruited by big-time college football programs when they visit various schools.
Well, high schooler Brandon Sudge is one of those lucky few that know that feeling. Thanks in large part to Georgia Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart and Bulldog recruit Javon Winns, Sudge was able to have the experience of a lifetime.
Brandon has cerebral palsy as a result of an injury suffered at birth. Still he hasn’t let it stop him, writing for SicEmDawgs.com, which is how he got to know Winns. The two got to know each other while Winns was being recruited by the Bulldogs.
“Javon had been a guy that had always answered interview questions for me, as I’m a writer for SicEmDawgs.com. I’m a high school senior with a disability, so I’m going through the college process as well and having to endure physical challenges daily,” Sudge told Dawgs247.
Brandon was invited to accompany Winns on his visit, only Smart and his staff included Brandon as if he was a five star recruit, giving him the full treatment.

“We walked into the reception area and every coach came up and greeted us as well as the recruits. Then throughout this period, each coach would come back over to us and try to get to know us more,” Brandon said. “Coach Smart introduced me to Javon, and his actions and ways of care really showed his utmost class, and that will bring great things to this university. He spoke with me for a solid hour before heading to Sanford.”
Smart even came to Sudge’s school to have a chat with him. Clearly coach Smart is already making a positive impact in the Bulldog community, and recognizing kids that deserve the attention even if they don’t wear pads.
Congrats Brandon!
So honored to take part in the wonderful experience that was a UGA official visit. Big thx to Coach Smart & Javon! pic.twitter.com/wYAcORo46x
