The LSU Tigers have dropped from their top recruiting class ranking, but they still have a long way to go for their National Signing Day. It looks like they have done a good job of trying to move back up the rankings.
They landed another talented receiver for the 2016 season as Drake Davis officially signed his way into the Tigers’ class. He announced his signing with the Tigers in an essay submitted to The Players’ Tribune.
“People have to understand: I rooted for LSU when I was little,” Davis wrote. “That 2007 National Championship? It’s basically my first real memory as a sports fan. I was only in grade school, and man…I was obsessed with that team. Matt Flynn, Glenn Dorsey, Brandon LaFell, Early Doucet—those were my guys. That team was everything to me. And when they won the championship … Wow, I can’t even explain it. I’m not sure I’ve ever been so happy in my life. To me, it was bigger than the Super Bowl.”
LSU has a talented crop of receivers for the 2016 season with Malachai Dupre and Travin Dural returning.
