Kentucky defensive backs coach and recently promoted co-defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley is leaving Lexington for a job with the Alabama Crimson Tide, according to The Tuscaloosa News.
The report, written by Aaron Suttles, states that Ansley is expected to work with the secondary while first-year defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt will work with the inside linebackers.
Ansley is also an Alabama native and was a graduate assistant under Nick Saban in 2010 and 2011. During his time with the Wildcats, he also established a reputation as a strong recruiter, ideal for any Alabama coach.
Combined with the recruiting abilities of Saban and offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, Ansley should end up being a fine addition to Alabama’s staff.
