Von Miller posts support for Johnny Manziel following Super Bowl

Denver Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller took to Instagram to give a shout of support to his former college teammate, embattled Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel after last night’s Super Bowl, which Denver won 24-10.

This isn’t at all a surprise, as Miller has been in Manziel’s shoes to a certain degree. He was suspended for the first six games of the 2013 season after violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, and missed Denver’s Super Bowl loss that season with a torn ACL. Suddenly, he’s on top of the world as both a champion and Super Bowl MVP.

Manziel can also have that story, but he controls his own destiny. The Browns have made it subtly clear that they will cut him once they are able due to his excessive partying away from the field and recent incident with his ex-girlfriend, in which he allegedly struck her and threatened both their lives.

Simply put, all Manziel needs to do is look at his fellow Texas A&M Aggie’s career and see that so long as he keeps his head screwed on straight, greatness can be achieved. But that alone is up to him.
