Browns deny covering for drunk Manziel with concussion protocol

Officially, Browns quarterback and documented party enthusiast Johnny Manziel was placed under concussion protocol for Cleveland’s last game of the season, causing him to miss the game. Still, that hasn’t quieted rumors that he was actually drunk at practice Dec. 30, causing the Browns to cover for him as stated my NFL Network’s Mike Silver.

The concussion diagnosis came days after Manziel was video taped holding a Four Loko and listening to Future, he then skipped his doctor’s appointment the Monday after the game.

Silver for his part, stands by his report. He is admitting that it is possible that Manziel was in concussion protocol, and has no direct knowledge of what Manziel told doctors.

Silver expressed“regret” over his claim—which he originally repeated for emphasis—that the Browns lied about Manziel having a concussion.
