4-star Texas A&M commit arrested on robbery charge

Class of 2016 four-star defensive end and Texas A&M signee Alton Robinson is in some hot water, mere weeks after signing a letter of intent to play for the Aggies. According to a report from local ABC affiliate KSAT, Robinson has been arrested for allegedly stealing the cell phone of an ex-girlfriend.

Per the report, Robinson’s ex, who has remained nameless, came home from a trip to the store on the night of the 9th and saw Robinson hiding in bushes adjacent to her driveway. As she approached her door, Robinson grabbed her purse off of her shoulder and ran off. She chased after him and though he dropped the purse, he kept the phone. A criminal complaint was then filed on Monday.

But the disturbing part of the story is not the arrest, but that Robinson has apparently robbed this young lady before.

The ex-girlfriend also told the investigator that a similar incident happened in May 2015, Keith said. She claimed that Robinson approached her car and stole her purse. A struggle ensued and the girl suffered minor injuries, Keith said.

No word has yet been given on what this means for Robinson’s status in College Station, but a loss of scholarship is definitely a possibility depending on how the case plays out. Be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates!
