Apparently, it’s never too early to start looking towards a program’s future.
The Miami Hurricanes have made an offer to a player who has yet to even take the field for a high school football game. Eighth-grade quarterback Harrison Bailey, a native of Georgia, was offered by Miami and head coach Mark Richt on Tuesday.
Bailey made the reveal on Twitter.
Blessed and humbled to receive my 1st offer from THE U! #canes! pic.twitter.com/y8iPbI8hy6

Call me crazy, but I can’t help but think that offering an eighth grader is a little too early. The kid isn’t even halfway to being fully matured, and a program is already telling him that they want him? I come from an area where being humble is key to success. Getting this type of praise so early on could see humility go right out the window..
