Sony looking for PS4 firmware beta testers

A new major PlayStation 4 firmware update is on the way, and Sony wants players to test it out before it goes live to the world.

The company has opened sign ups for a closed beta of the new features, and is going to be giving select users a chance to try it out before anyone else. Players can sign up at this link, with the testing to begin in early March.

Those that are selected will receive an e-mail with download instructions, and there are only a limited number of spots available for testers.

There has been no word on the features the new firmware will bring, but it’s expected to be quite large if a beta is needed by Sony. Also unknown is a potential public release of the new features, though all of that information should be known around the time the beta begins.
