UNC F Brice Johnson says Duke loss will ‘hurt a while’

North Carolina forward and ACC Player of the Year candidate Brice Johnson turned in a great performance against Duke last night, posting 29 points and 19 rebounds, but that wasn’t enough as the Tar Heels lost a tough one 74-73. After the game, Johnson took to Twitter to express his feelings.

Johnson is right, especially about the hurting part. Losing to a heated rival at home is never fun, and the fact that UNC probably could have increased its odds of winning the game had coach Roy Williams simply called a timeout with less than a minute to go rather than allow Duke to run the clock out the way it did.

But the good news is that Johnson didn’t wallow in the sorrow of the loss for too long and posted the following to Instagram this morning.

Even at times like this i love being a Tar Heel and I wouldn’t change that for anything. #4HerRSJ

Needless to say, with Miami coming to Chapel Hill this weekend, Johnson and his teammates have plenty of time to prepare for the grudge match at Cameron Indoor Stadium on March 5.
