Georgia has landed a verbal commitment from 2017 three-star wide receiver Xavier Jenkins, according to a tweet from Georgia beat writer Bob Miller.

Jenkins currently stars at Lowndes County High School in Valdosta, Georgia, just a stone’s throw from the Florida state line. He has incredible size at 6-foot-5, 195 pounds and is the fifth commitment in the Bulldogs’ 2017 class. On top of Georgia, he has offers from Louisville and East Carolina.
He won’t suit up in Athens for a while, but having a receiver of Jenkins’ size will prove to be a boon for the Bulldogs as they begin play under new coach Kirby Smart. Mississippi State wideout and soon-to-be NFL prospect De’Runnya Wilson is built similarly at 6-foot-5, 215 pounds and enjoyed a successful career in Starkville, and the same can be said for future Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson, who starred at Georgia Tech.
Needless to say, this is quite a get for Georgia.
