Three UMass football players arrested for noise violations

Over the weekend, three of the University of Massachusetts football players were arrested in Amherst for noise violations. One former UMass player was arrested with the other three. Police were called to the scene in the hours after midnight from complaints of a loud party on Saturday at Alpine Commons. According to police, they broke up a large party of around 100 people.

The football players in question are Marquis Young, Lamarriel Taylor and Darrien Josey. The former player is Al Leneus who lives in with Taylor. The four were arraigned on Tuesday. They were found guilty of violating the bylaw but the charges were lessened to a civil infraction.

Young is a freshman star running back for the Minutemen. Taylor and Josey are also freshman but did not see playing time this season. Leneus played for UMass from 2012-15 as both an offensive and defensive linesman.
