Video: Jim Harbaugh plays tennis at UM’s match vs. MSU

Though the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans are bitter Big Ten rivals, the rivalry can sometimes be a friendly one with some fun moments. That was the case last night, when Wolverines head football coach Jim Harbaugh showed off his tennis skills during a break in the match.

Of course, video was posted to the official Twitter of Michigan tennis.

OK, so Harbaugh is no Andre Agassi. But that’s OK, he’s a football guy. More importantly, it must be pretty hard to play tennis in full sidelines gear.

The good news is that Harbaugh had fun with it and didn’t take himself too seriously, even playfully smacking the net after missing an easy volley while sporting a smile as big as Lake Michigan. The fact is that it’s great PR for the university and the football program if Harbaugh participates in various events around campus, and his playful nature in this regard should help attract more recruits to the program.
