Newsome, a former fifth-round pick out of Ball State, was arrested on February 17 after local police arrived at his Indiana apartment to investigate a noise complaint. This is not the first time he has had an issue with marijuana, as he also drew a two game suspension at Ball State in 2012 for possession. In two years with the Colts, he managed 31 tackles, 7.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.

Newsome could be looking at a league suspension for this arrest, depending on how the case plays out, but he still has enough overall talent that a team will likely take a chance on him once free agency begins next month. He’s only just turned 25 and doesn’t have a history of getting in trouble during his time in the NFL, so he should receive a shot at redemption.
