Trial in Erin Andrews lawsuit begins today

Sports reporter Erin Andrews is returning to Nashville, but not for a sporting event. This time, she is returning to the courtroom.

Andrew’s is filing a negligence lawsuit against Marriott Hotels and seeking $75 million in damages, with the trial set to begin today.

In 2008, Andrews visited Nashville to cover a Vanderbilt football game. While there, she says the hotel allowed a man, Michael David Barrett, to spy on her through a peep hole as she undressed. Barrett then apparently posted photos and video of this online.

Originally, Andrews sued the entire chain of hotels but that case was thrown out. Andrews then turned her lawsuit on the hotel where the incident happened, Barrett himself and Windsor Capital Group, the management company that owns the Nashville Marriott where the incident took place.

The trial is set to begin today and is expected to last 10 days, so stay tuned to Campus Sports for any further updates out of Nashville!
