Michigan’s decision to hold practices in Florida over spring break has been talked about a lot in the sports community. The idea ran into problems from the SEC when commissioner Greg Sankey called it “inappropriate” and an intrusion into the limited free time of the student-athlete.
Head coach Jim Harbaugh , who has been discussed a fair amount himself, thinks it’s a great opportunity for his team to bond and connect over a break.
It’s also presented itself as a recruiting opportunity for the Wolverines.
Today, Harbaugh announced that he would like to invite all available Florida high school football coaches to attend a spring practice, next Friday. The invitation is intended to get high school coaches excited about Michigan football and to encourage recruits in the Wolverine direction.
The Wolverines ended their 2015 season 6-2 in the Big 10 and 10-3 overall. They were selected to play in the Citrus Bowl against the Florida Gators.
