Report: Trevone Boykin open to position change in NFL

Sometimes, athletic players enter the NFL hoping to play a position they played during college, but ended up getting switched around for the better. Look at players like Julian Edelman or Nick Marshall, two former quarterbacks who have made position changes and transitioned to the league well.

It looks like another quarterback could be making a position change ahead of the NFL Draft. According to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has said that he would be up for a change, despite him wanting to stay where he is.

Some scouts have already said that they could see Boykin as a wide receiver at the next level, which would make sense because of his slim build. However, you can’t blame Boykin for wanting to stay a quarterback.

You also have to take into account the fact that he was, at one point, considered a top quarterback prospect before suffering an injury late in the season and then being suspended for the final game of the year after his arrest.

Whatever happens, Boykin hopes to improve enough on his skills to show that he can play in some capacity in the NFL.
