2018 TE Malcolm Epps commits to Alabama

Class of 2018 tight end Malcolm Epps has committed to Alabama, per a post on his Twitter.

Currently a star football and basketball player at Houston’s Dekaney High School, Epps has great size for his position at 6-foot-6, 230 pounds and also had offers from LSU, Florida State and Texas A&M. He made his commitment to Alabama on an unofficial visit to the campus.

He won’t suit up for the Crimson Tide for a few more years and a lot may change regarding his recruitment, but this is still a huge get for Alabama coach Nick Saban. On top of shoring up potential tight end needs in the future, it is a testament to how strong a recruiter Saban is. Given how the absolute MVP of last season’s national championship game was tight end O.J. Howard, perhaps Epps can look forward to a lucrative tenure in Tuscaloosa once it’s time for him to strap on his pads.
