Clemson Tigers defensive back Mackensie Alexander is widely regarded as one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2016 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he did not take advantage of the NFL Scouting Combine to prove how he stacks up against the competition.
On Monday morning, Alexander announced that he would not participate in on-field drills in Indianapolis.
The news comes just days after Alexander proclaimed himself the best corner in the draft. Now, he will have to wait until the Clemson Pro Day to back up his claims.
Alexander has been dealing with a hamstring injury since the College Football Playoff semifinal win over Oklahoma. Alexander re-aggravated the injury in the national championship loss to Alabama.
Clemson’s Pro Day is in just ten days (March 10), so he will have to make sure he is ready to go sooner rather than later.
