Minnesota Twins ban hoverboards

The Minnesota Twins have announced that they are banning players from using popular “hoverboards” due to safety concerns.

“They just seemed a little too dangerous,” said Twins manager Paul Molitor, who banned the contraptions from Minnesota’s clubhouse this spring. “The guys had fun with them, but you’ve got to be aware that someone could get hurt.”

Minnesota Twins pitcher Ryan O’Rourk is said to have started the trend with the team when he rode one around the clubhouse last season.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Carolina Panthers have also banned the popular toy.

These hoverboards have made headlines for various safety reasons recently, including fire-safety concerns. The lithium battery has been known to overheat and catch on fire, creating a major issue in the technology. The boards became popular when various social media stars began riding them and the trend has spread like wildfire across the globe, despite the controversy that surrounds their safety.
