Nate Diaz’s coach says McGregor is on steroids

Nate Diaz generated some serious attention at the UFC 196 press conference with his accusations of rampant steroid abuse in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, directed specifically featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Now, Diaz’s coach is chiming in on the conversation, saying the signs point towards the brash Irishman using illegal substances.

“I know McGregor has got to be on some kind of steroids,” Diaz’s coach Richard Perez said. “He’s pretty big, and then all of a sudden (he’s) jumping to 170? Yeah there’s no way, cause I mean, he was supposed to be fighting at 155.”

Perez added that McGregor seemed to get defensive when confronted with the accusations. Perez expressed suspicion of Connor McGregor’s seemingly sudden weight jump from 155 to 170, in support of Diaz’s recent allegations.

So far, there hasn’t been any word in response to Diaz and Perez’s accusations from McGregor or the UFC.

Diaz and McGregor will face off March 5 in Las Vegas. As of now, McGregor is the favorite to win.
