Orioles ban postgame pie celebrations because of safety concerns

Maybe we should start calling Major League Baseball the “No Fun League.” Sure, the acronym doesn’t work out as well, but the Baltimore Orioles recent decision to ban postgame pie celebrations is definitely a step towards sucking the fun out of the league.

It is a celebration that has become a bit of a tradition for the Orioles in recent years thanks to center fielder Adam Jones, but now the team has outlawed it for “safety reasons.”

“It’s no one’s fault. It’s just about safety. At the end of the day it can be dangerous so we’re being smart,” Jones wrote on his official Twitter account about the news.

In the grand scheme of things, it isn’t the biggest deal.

However, if the Orioles enter a losing streak, we know what to blame.
