Oklahoma RB Samaje Perine won’t participate in spring practice

Oklahoma Sooners fans will have to wait for sophomore running back Samaje Perine to return to the field.

On Thursday, reports surfaced that Perine, who is still recovering from an ankle injury, will be unable to participate in the Sooners’ spring practice.

Perine has been dealing with nagging ankle injuries since November.

Despite the injuries, Perine was able to tough it out and finish the season. Unfortunately, the damage following the team’s bowl game was too severe and Perine was forced to undergo surgery.

While he will have to sit out spring practice, all signs point towards Perine being healthy enough for the beginning of the season as the Sooners hope to return to the College Football Playoff for a second consecutive year.
