Legends never die. Anyone who is able to forever put their mark on a city, nation or, on a smaller scale, a specific program, is always remembered for what they have done to help out.
That is the case for legendary basketball coach Dean Smith, who will always be a big part of North Carolina Tar Heels history.
Smith has now been immortalized in Chapel Hill thanks to an amazing mural that was completed by artist Scott Nurkin, an alumnus of the University of North Carolina.
Dean Smith passed away on Feb. 7 of last year. Shortly after the UNC legend’s death, Nurkin began working on the project. Just over a year later, the project is complete and it is just as spectacular as you would have imagined.
