Despite not going for a championship this weekend, Conor McGregor is set to make UFC history on Saturday night.
After he fights Nate Diaz at UFC 196 in Las Vegas, McGrgor will be draw a $1 million disclosed purse for the bout. It will be the first $1 million disclosed pure in the history of the UFC.
And that’s just for the fight itself. McGregor will also be paid via bonuses and sponsorships, making him well more than the $1 million that is disclosed. Whether it’s legitimate or not, McGregor did tell CNBC that he will “breeze” past $10 million from this fight.
As for his opponent, Diaz, according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, will make $500,000 from the fight with no win bonus. The co-main event disclosed payouts sees women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm bring in $500,000 with no win bonus while Miesha Tate is making $46,000 to fight and another $46,000 should she win.
The main card of UFC 196 kicks off at 10pm from the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
