Check out the first goal of the MLS season

The 2016 MLS season is underway, and the scoring got started with a bang early on in the matchup between New York City FC and Chicago Fire.

NYCFC’s Tommy McNamara curved a beautiful shot around the Chicago goaltender to give his team a 1-0 lead, and put the first tally of the 2016 season on the board.

Check it out for yourself.

It’s a pretty great goal to start the season, and hopefully is a sign of things to come. All 20 teams are in action on the league’s opening day, and there is sure to be even more great goals scored by the time Sunday comes to an end.

What do you think of McNamara’s goal? Let’s talk about it in the comment section below.
