NFL players are public figures who must hold themselves to a higher standard of behavior, and free agent quarterback Brock Osweiler just raised the bar in that department. As a video from TMZ shows, Osweiler was on a pizza run early Sunday morning and some clearly inebriated people went so far as to shout at him, touch him and try to get a rise out of him. One man even went so far as to try and fight Osweiler but, as the video below will show, Osweiler refuses to engage with anyone and just kept going about his business as best he could.
Given how Osweiler is set to hit free agency at midnight tonight, he handled this situation perfectly. Doing anything more than what he did likely would have resulted in his being disciplined under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, not to mention scare off teams interested in signing him.
On top of that, Osweiler is in a position to possibly succeed Peyton Manning as the starting quarterback of the Denver Broncos and since he just kept walking so he could go home and enjoy his pizza, he is in a much better position to do so.
It just goes to show you, folks, that sometimes good can come out of TMZ!
