Word around the Ohio State Buckeyes locker room is that the players have already dubbed the upcoming 2016 season as the “Year of the Wolves,” and former running back and soon-to-be first-round NFL Draft pick Ezekiel Elliott chose to celebrate that in his own unique way.
In a picture posted to his Twitter, Elliott took the time to show off quite the tattoo that he just had done. The tattoo itself? Well, it’s a picture of a wolf howling at the moon.

Sure enough, local Columbus tattoo shop Tattoo Cartel put a picture of the piece on its Instagram and gave Elliott a proper shoutout.

But Elliott is right to celebrate the “Year of the Wolves” mentality that has swept the locker room, even if he won’t be playing in an Ohio State uniform next season. Ohio State needs to have a pack mentality in the ever-tough Big Ten as it looks to win its second national championship in three years under coach Urban Meyer, and teamwork on both sides of the ball is going to be the key to victory in 2016.
Thus, with Elliott only able to be a Buckeye in spirit this year, he certainly picked a remarkable way to honor his alma mater and celebrate the upcoming season.
